About Sandy Dole, ACC, AC-BC, founder of Activities for Geriatric
Enrichment, (AGE): |

Sandy Dole has
over 40 years of long-term care experience, both institution and community
based, planning, implementing and administering programs for elders and
other individuals with special needs. She has worked as an activity
professional, marketing director, admissions' coordinator, resource
developer, and public relations director. Several years ago she
started a consulting business, Activities for Geriatric
Enrichment, (AGE).
Throughout her professional life, her primary focus has been elder
advocacy and quality of life for residents as well as staff in long term
care facilities. She is a Del Tech graduate, with an A.A.S. in Human
Services Gerontology Technology. Sandy served on the CMS Panel of Experts for F248/249. She is a founding member of the Delaware Culture Change Coalition and serves as the organization's Culture Change Champion. She has served on
the boards of several agencies and organizations that provide support
services and assistance to elders in a variety of settings. Sandy is
past President of the Delaware Council of Activity
Professionals and serves as the state contact to the National Association
of Activity Professionals, and the National Certification Council for
Activity Professionals. She is a member of the review committee for
the Delaware Health Care Facilities' State Certification Program for
Activity Directors. She has served on the boards of directors of the
National Certification Council for Activity Professionals, and the
National Association of Activity Professionals. She was appointed by
Governor Markell and currently serves on the Board of Examiners of Nursing
Home Administrators.
Her not so professional life has
included a strong interest in humor, which inspired her involvement in
clowning as a volunteer, and as a teacher of the art to individuals of all
ages, including nursing home residents. |
